Might I suggest it’s because it’s a record that sounds like bottom of the barrel late nineties indie rap, by a guy with the flow of someone who writes rap lyrics on their deviant art account, rather than writing words to be delivered over beats (typical of poets turned rappers). The fact that you provided him sub-Co-Flo fractured beats, that sound positively quaint in 2008, really didn’t help matters.
