The biggest walk out was during Ante Up. Anime fans not liking rap music? What a surprise! Of course I’ve often found the opposite to be true in that rap fans will frequently like anime. From my point of view the Transport for London was the best video, as the open mouthed expressions of bewilderment on the audience’s faces was a cruel delight for me.

The review of the decade is on hold for a bit as I’m suffering from vertigo. However if I’m back on track by the weekend, I will be starting the other half of the project – namely declaring what was BEST. Can’t quite decide if I should go with individual posts or a traffic baiting “Top 10″ post (actually probably Top 20 or 30).

Also we’ll learn why this man is about to make the worst life choice of any Go Nagai character.

Talking of Go Nagai – this interview with the man himself on Egypt Today is really good. Interesting questions and some lengthy, insightful answers
This entry is part 8 of 78 in the series HATE FUN 2003
What was I saying about shows influenced by UK telefantasy? Wikipedia mentions this showing owing a little to James Bond, but there’s more than a little of The Persuaders to it too. Jack Hofner and Rowe Rickenbacker, the show’s heroes, can be seen as equivalents to Lord Brett Sinclair and Danny Wilde of the Roger Moore/Tony Curtis vehicle. I dismissed it at the time, but watching the opening again now, I think I might be tempted to check it out if I can find it cheap. Which may be tricky as it’s out of print following the Geneon USA closure. On the other hand it was so overlooked, there may be loads of DVDs clogging warehouses unsold…

Following Prince of Tennis in the schedule was this other hit show from the pages of Shonen Jump. The tale of a young boy learning the game of Go from the ghost of a Heian era Go instructor to the Emperor.
Well I’ve not done one of these for a while. So long in fact, that I’m not sure anyone still uses the word blogroll any more.
Fixing the Movie Business … It’s slightly Askew Friend of the Awesome Engine, Anthony Askew’s new film blog. Why not go and suggest him a better name for his blog and tell him to start using tags and categories!
COLONY DROP – Anime review site, who did a fine job of upsetting some pseudo-intellectual Haruhi fans recently.
Subatomic Brainfreeze – Dave from Colony Drop’s site. His Shin Mazinger reviews are why I don’t feel the need to write any.
Oh Word is updating again, though now as Rafi Kam’s blog. Still great though.
Roasted Peanuts – chronological discussion of Peanuts strips.
Hip-Hop Connection – the new online version of HHC, with blog and digital downloads. The PDF version of the magazine understands the needs of digital magazine layout in way I don’t think I’ve seen before.
In my continuing effort to create single idea tumblr’s that I never get round to updating, I have a new one.
DYNAMIC SIDEBURNS – a blog about the characters from Go Nagai/Dynamic Productions who have a certain, similar, look. It might reappear as a proper post some day. But in the meantime a tumblr’s a good place to dump ideas.

For those of you keeping track, here are my other tumblrs.
