First “modern” anime show in the Top 100.
I've not seen this boxing anime. I'd like to, but Geneon haven't released no box sets as yet. While 5 episodes for £17 seems a decent price when you compare it to other anime releases, that just shows how little value for money most anime DVDs are.
For any sort of TV show I really don't want to pay more than 30 pound for 20 half hour episodes. Manga's UK Naruto release is closer to the pricing scheme that should be used, though even there I think 30 quid for 26 episodes would have been fairer given the general production quality of the show (and no doubt if you are willing to wait long enough, you'll be able to get them for that price).
Anyhoo, enough ranting about DVD prices, here's the first OP to Hajime no Ippo.
I was originally thinking of doing one a day of these, but that'll take me to Christmas. Looking some of the upcoming ones up on Youtube and through Google today has been somewhat illuminating, so you may get a run on the more obscure (at least to english speaking audiences) in the coming days. It's when I get to the stuff I know about and you know about that I'll probably grind to a halt.
