Seen as a prototypical Go Nagai manga, particularly for demon related apocalypse series like Devilman, this was a short adaptation that gave that gave the series an ending it was originally missing. I’ve not seen the anime, but I have the read the manga which starts off fairly sensible, but we eventually get the bonkers origin of Dante:
