I feel like I wilfully ignored this show back in 2002/03 when folks were going crazy for it. I think it might be the male leads dopey looking face. Look at his giant eyes, they look like they’ve eaten the forehead of his spherical bonce. Taraku Uon (Read or Die) reportedly did the initial designs, but it appears Hiroaki Gohda then went and ruined them for the cartoon.
